Albert John Childress
August 18, 1924 ~ August 7, 2010


Funeral Services for Albert J. Childress, 85, of Chickasha, will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, in the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Patterson officiating.

Albert John Childress, was born August 18, 1924, in Depew, Oklahoma, the son of Fred F. Childress and Maggie M. Einkauf Childress. He died Saturday, August 7, 2010, in Oklahoma City.

Albert attended schools at Gypsy, Oklahoma, near Bristow, Oklahoma. He married Zelda Kayser on June 28, 1945. Albert had been employed in the oil fields for over 40 years. He had been employed with Parker Drilling, H. & P. Drilling and several other companies. He retired as a Superintendent

Albert enjoyed spending time with his family, cutting wood, playing the guitar and loved barbequing and made some of the best barbequed beans to be found.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Zelda and his son, Clark Childress, one brother, Jerry Childress, two sisters, Elva Cross and Meryl Chancellor.

Survivors include one son, Terry Childress, of Claremore, Oklahoma; three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Elton Craddock, of Duncan, Oklahoma, Sharon Cloukia and Larry Oxford, of Chickasha, Diane and Michael Hurley, of Verden, Oklahoma; one sister, Josie Moss; twelve-grandchildren, nine-great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Tyler Walsh, Shukri El-Khayyat, Dustin Kennell, Rick Compton, Joshua Compton and Billy Watkins.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Zelda Mae [Kayser] Childress
July 5, 1925 ~ November 1, 2006


Funeral service for Zelda Mae Childress, 81, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2006 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Zelda Mae Childress was born July 5, 1925 in Bessie, Oklahoma the daughter of Edward H. and Ethel Cleo [Rogers] Kayser and died November 1, 2006 in Chickasha.

She and Albert J. Childress were married June 28, 1945.

She lived for 27 years southeast of Tuttle moving back to Chickasha 2 years ago.

Zelda was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church of Tuttle. She liked to work in her flower garden. Her greatest love was her Lord, her husband, her children and her family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents.

Survivors include: husband: Albert J. Childress of the home; three daughters: Charlotte Craddock and husband Bud of Alex; Sharon Kay Cloukia of Chickasha; Diane Lynne Hurley and husband Michael of Verden; two sons: Terry Childress of Claremore; Clark Childress of Chickasha; one sister: Phyllis Ann MacTavish of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Interment wil be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Clark D. Childress, 64, of Chickasha, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Clark D. Childress was born March 28, 1946, in Bakersfield, California. He died June 23, 2010, in Chickasha.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
