September 1981 Vera O. [Long] Chapman February 2, 1905 ~ September 23, 1981 Funeral for Mrs. Vera O. Chapman, 76, Will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, 1981 in College Heights Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. C. A. 'Pete' Spradlin officiating. Mrs. Chapman was born February 2, 1905, in Tupelo, Miss. She died Wednesday, September 23, 1981, in Grady Memorial Hospital. She and Edd Chapman were married in 1927 in Chickasha. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1968. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Samantha Smith, and one brother, Paul Long. Mrs. Chapman had lived in Chickasha since 1926. She was a licensed practical nurse and had been employed by Borden General Hospital, Chickasha Hospital, and Grady Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1968. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. Survivors are one brother, Bill Long ; and six sisters, Villa McClung, Leona Wood, Alta Betts, Ola McDowell, Modine Stevens, and Gladius Stevens. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Sevier Funeral home. Submitters Note: Her mother Minnie Ione [Miller] Long died 23 July 1975 and her father Joseph Solomon Long died 29 Aug 1930. They are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery. |

Ivan Leon Chapman was born February 9, 1941, in Eakly, Oklahoma. He died June 30, 2009, in Chickasha. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
