© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 9, 2010 Erty Lee Chambers February 28, 1924 ~ August 7, 2010 Graveside services for Erty Lee Chambers, 86, of Chickasha, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Erty Lee McWherter was born February 28, 1924, in Clarksville, Arkansas the daughter of Ruben McWherter and Nancy Henderson McWherter. She died Saturday, August 7, 2010, in Chickasha. Erty grew up in the Chickasha and Cement area. She graduated from Pioneer School. She married J.C. Chambers in February 1948, at County Line, Oklahoma. Erty had been a homemaker rearing her children and spend many years as a Health Aide. She enjoyed attending dances and the local Senior Center and loved country music and line dancing. Erty favorite pass time was spending time with her grandchildren. Erty was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, J.C.;, a son, Jackie Chambers; and five sisters and five brothers. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; Yvonna and Charles Peek of Chickasha, Judy Powers of Tulsa, and Kim Fulton, of Norman; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jim and Beverly Peek, Mike and Teresa Peek all of Chickasha, Aaron and Kara McGoldrick, of Norman, Daniel and Ronna Fulton, of Moore, Shana Fulton, of Chickasha and Will Powers, of Tulsa, and nine-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma May 19, 2011 Grady Dave Chambers April 2, 1935 ~ May 17, 2011 Funeral services for Grady Dave Chambers, 76, of Chickasha will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Grand Assembly of God in Chickasha with Larry Hatfield and Gary Rogers officiating. Grady Dave Chambers was born April 2, 1935, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, to Harlen H. (Man) and Dhybon Sims Chambers. He died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in Chickasha. Grady grew up in the Rush Springs area and attended school in Cox City. He married Vicky Weldon on July 28, 1974, in Reno, Nevada. Grady was self-employed most of his life, making his living as a truck driver. When he was not on the road he enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and watching whatever sport was in season. He always loved to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by: his parents Harlen H. (Man) Chambers, Dhybon Sims Chambers McGowan and W.D. "Mack" McGowan; two sons, Greg Chambers and Garol Don Chambers; one brother Harlen Wade Chambers; one niece Tracy Lynn Chambers; and one brother-in-law, Larry "Buzz" Frederick. Survivors include: wife Vicky of the home; daughter and son-in-law Lené and Bill Turner of Chickasha; daughter and fiancé Lavette Taylor and Travis Simmons of Cement, Oklahoma; three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrin and RaDena Chambers of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Cary and Amanda Chambers of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Mike "Moo" and Amanda Chambers of Verden, Oklahoma; grandchildren Jennifer Troub, Ricky Chambers, Brandon Taylor, Shawna Wagaman, Ha'Leigh Chambers, DeLaney Chambers, Easton Chambers, Carter Chambers and Calyn Chambers; three great-grandchildren; sister Jewell Frederick; brother Jimmy Ray Chambers; and numerous nieces and nephews. |
