Cavin will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Sevier Chapel with Elva D. Teel of Wayne and Coy Potter of Alex officiating. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Cavin died in Norman at 3 a.m. today at the age of 72. He was born on November 22, 1896 in Oklahoma I. T. He had been a resident of Chickasha for the past 47 years. A farmer and stockman most of his life he had been in failing health the past five years. A member of the Church of Christ at Ninth and Colorado, he was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his widow, Bertha of the home at 726 South 15th; five sons, Thurman L., Truman Onial and Ronald Dean of Chickasha and Dorman Othel and Donald Lee of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mrs. Rhoda McAda of Farmington, N. M., Mrs. Nannie Sumner, Chickasha and Mrs. Cora Clements of Lubbock, Tex. and 12 grandchildren. |
© The Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma December 20, 1971 Page 2, Col.4 Bertha Mae [Neve] Cavin March 18, 1900 ~ December 19,1971 Funeral service for Mrs. Bertha Mae Cavin, 71, 726 South 15th will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Mrs. Cavin was born March 18, 1900 at McCulloch County, Tex. She died Sunday in Grady Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cavin moved to Chickasha from Melvin, Tex. and had made her home here for 48 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee in 1969. Mrs. Cavin was a member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ. Survivors include five sons, Thurman L, Truman Onial and Ronald Dean of Chickasha; Dorman Othel and Donald Lee of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mrs. Verda Wyres of Brady, Tex., Mrs. Dora Armistead of San Angelo, Tex.; three brothers, Clyde Neve of Corpus Christi, Tex., T. C. Neve of Texas City, Tex., Jack Neve of Oklahoma City; also 12 grandchildren. |
© The Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma October 2011 Dorman Othel Cavin January 4, 1929 ~ September 29, 2011 Dorman Othel Cavin was born January 4, 1929 in Chickasha to Lee and Bertha Cavin. He died September 29, 2011. He graduated from Chickasha High School, worked 10 years for Chickasha Cotton Oil Company, serving two years in the Army during the Korean war. He was with Apco Oil Company for 23 years, 8 years with Barrett Trailer and worked at Lakeside Golf Course until June of this year. He is survived by his wife, Opal, of almost 62 years, two daughters Karen and her husband Brad Ingham of Jacksonville, Fla. and Cheryl Cavin of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Heather, Holden, Alex, Austin and Landon and one great-granddaughter, Emma. Also surviving, brothers Thurman Cavin and his wife Vergie, Truman Onial Cavin and his wife Mary Ann of Chickasha; sisters-in-law Loretta and Velma Cavin of Oklahoma City and numerous nephews and nieces. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his twin brothers, Ronald Dean and Donald Lee Cavin. Services were at Oakcrest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City on Oct. 4th, with burial at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. |
