Carty was born October 17, 1908, and died on Saturday, January 4, 2003. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma January 6, 2003 Wirta R. [Walden] Carty October 17, 1908 ~ January 4, 2003 Funeral service for Wirta R. Carty, age 94, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ron Caudill will officiate. Mrs. Carty was born the daughter of Ervin Walden and Betty Robinson Walden on October 17, 1908, in Geary, Oklahoma. She died January 4, 2003, in Chickasha. Before her health failed, Wirta loved working in her flower beds and reading. She especially loved reading the Bible since she was a faithful Christian lady. Wirta was Baptist by faith. Wirta married Claude Carty, who preceded her in death on July 7, 1981. Survivors include: daughter: June Carty of Chickasha; brother and sister-in-law: Finis and Nella Walden of Fulton, Arkansas; sister-in-law: Mable Walden of Hope, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. |
