Nadine Butler was born December 19, 1931. She died October 31, 2006, in McAlester, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, November 2, 2006 Nadine Leona [Looper] Butler December 19, 1931 ~ October 31, 2006 Graveside rites for Nadine Leona Butler, 74, of McAlester will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Ledbetter of Duncan will officiate. Mrs. Butler died Tuesday in a McAlester Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Nadine Butler was a native of Chickasha and attended Chickasha schools. She was born on December 19, 1931 in Bend, OR, to Robert Lee Looper, Sr. & Leona Alice Howard Looper of Chickasha. She had resided in McAlester for twenty-nine years, and married Virgel L. Butler on May 20, 1978. During her working years, Mrs. Butler was a licensed hair dresser and worked for a time for Komar, formerly Seam Proof in McAlester as a cutter. She was a member of The Lighthouse Prayer Church in Arpelar, OK, where she played the piano for a time. Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters, Sharon McVey, Pat Hartline, Gloria Clark, Mabel Carman and a brother, Lee Looper, Jr. Those surviving include her husband, Virgel of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and John Mefford of Duncan, a sister, Fran Morris and husband Jerry of Chickasha, a sister-in-law, Linda Looper Brown of Oklahoma City, a brother-in-law, John McVey of Fort Worth, Texas, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and twenty nieces and nephews. |
