© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, March 11, 2007 Gwendolyn Sue [Couch] Burleson October 21, 1948 ~ March 8, 2007 Funeral service for Gwendolyn Sue Burleson, age 58, of Chickasha will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007, at the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Gwendolyn Sue Burleson was born the daughter of James Robert Couch and Dicie Ilene Minor Couch on October 21, 1948, Bakersfield, California. She died on March 8, 2007, in Oklahoma City. Sue grew up in Poteau, Oklahoma. On December 17, 1968, she married Eugene Ray Burleson in Oklahoma City where they continued to live for several years. While in Oklahoma City, she worked as a nurse at Integris Baptist Hospital. She later moved to Chickasha where she worked as a nurse at Shanoan Springs Residence Center. Sue lived in Chickasha for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Gwendolyn Burleson, one brother, James Couch, and one sister, Helen McKinney. Survivors include: Husband: Ray Burleson of the home; Daughter: Bonnie Brookshire of Chickasha; Son: Ray Burleson, Jr., of Cordell; Daughter: Shelly Austin of Chickasha; Son: Bobby Burleson of Cordell; Daughter: Ginger Couch of Chickasha; Daughter: Brinda Baker of Chickasha; Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Sisters: Bobbie Carter of Tulsa and Pat Miller, Sandra Richardson, Wendy Robertson, and Ginger Rineheart of South Carolina; Brothers: Robert, Henrey, and Tony Couch of South Carolina. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
