© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma November 18, 2008 ~ November 20, 2008 Cloy V. "Ruth" [Dillard] Brown September 27, 1930 ~ November 15, 2008 Funeral service for Cloy V. Brown, age 78 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Cloy Virue Brown was born the daughter of Julius C. Dillard and Elizabeth "Kate" Threadgill Dillard on September 27, 1930, in Alex, Oklahoma. She died on November 15, 2008 in Chickasha. Cloy lived in the Chickasha area as a child. In 1950, she married J.A. Brown in Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived in various places, following Mr. Brown's work in the oil field. She and her husband eventually settled in Bloomfield, New Mexico, where they lived for many years. While in Bloomfield, she and her husband operated a cafĂ©. In 1972, they returned to Chickasha. After returning to Chickasha, Cloy worked as a housing supervisor at a local nursing home. Cloy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vellie Mae Miller and Norma Lean Ramsey; and her husband, Judge A. Brown. Survivors include: Brother: JC Dillard and wife, Marge of Arizona; Sister: Lois Ripatoe of Chickasha; Son: James Phillips and wife, Darryle of Chickasha; Grandson: Scot Phillips and wife, Vivian of Amarillo, Texas; Granddaughter: Natalie Talbert and husband, Jeff of Chickasha; Great-Granddaughter: Jamie Karlsson and husband, Kristinn of Chickasha; Great-Grandson: Brendan Phillips of New Mexico; Great-Granddaughter: Savannah Phillips of New Mexico. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Viewing will begin on Thursday, November 20, 2008. |
