© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, September 25, 2006 Wilda Jean [Faurot] Brinkley February 21, 1930 ~ September 24, 2006 Funeral services for Wilda Jean Brinkley, 76, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in the Grand Assembly of God Church with Larry Hatfield officiating. Wilda Jean Brinkley was born February 21, 1930, in Lamar, Missouri, the daughter of Alva Faurot and Pearl Hunt Faurot. She died Sunday, September 24, 2006, in Chickasha. Wilda grew up in Lamar, Missouri graduating from Lamar High School in 1947. She married Howard Brinkley on June 25, 1948, in Oakland, California. Wilda came to Oklahoma in 1951 and then returned to California for a period, coming to the Chickasha area in 1975, where she has resided since. She had been employed with Lenkurt Manufacturing in California for ten years and later Hermetic Switch in Chickasha where she retired. Wilda enjoyed doing crafts, working puzzles, making craft items for friends and giving them as gifts, sewing, cooking and volunteering to help others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey Levi Brinkley and Minnie Lee Brinkley, two granddaughters, Theresa Ann and Renee Suzette Brinkley and one brother, Kenneth Faurot. Survivors include her husband, Howard Brinkley, of the home; three sons and daughter-in-law: Gary Brinkley, of Mesa, Arizona; Phillip J. and Debbie Brinkley, of Oklahoma City; Donald Brinkley, of Chickasha; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen S. and Andy Blevins, of Chickasha; three granddaughters: Kristina Thoney, Heidi Ticer and Laura Brinkley; seven grandsons: Jeremy Brinkley, Chad Cobb, Shawn, Cobb, Isaiah, John and Matthew Brinkley and Aaron Blevins; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Thelma and Norman Buck, Joan and David Sheet; one brother and sister-in-law: Lyle and Jo Faurot; sister-in-law, Lorene Bartlett; and seven great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
