© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, November 17, 2001 Walker Olan Bozarth June 6, 1915 ~ November 25, 2001 Funeral service for Walker O. Bozarth, age 86, of Norman, OK, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2001, in the McRay Funeral Home. Walker Olan Bozarth was born on June 6, 1915, the son of George Ringold Bozarth and Cora E. Anderson Bozarth, at Tabler. He died on November 25, 2001, at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Norman. Walker was a longtime resident of the Chickasha area, where he worked on the family farm as a young man. He served in the National Guard while attending Friend High School. After graduation, he joined the Army and the Marines. Walker was a World War II veteran. After his military service, Walker worked for Tinker Air Force Base. Walker later worked for the Turnpike Authority and as a guard at the Governor's Mansion. He moved to Talihina Veterans Center in 1981, and to the Norman Veterans Center in June of 2000. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion. Walker was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jettie Murphy and Seawillow Brown. Survivors include: brother Albert Bozarth, of Chico, California; brother Loy Bozarth, of Norman; sister Gertrude Marie Mott, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and sister Louise Boyles, of Oklahoma City. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
