Bond , 68, will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church in Verden. Rev Allie Cocheran officiating. Bond was found dead in his home Sunday afternoon. His death was attributed to natural causes. He was born May 30, 1892 in Washington, Kan., and had been a long time resident of the Grady-Caddo county area around Verden. He was a member of the Baptist church and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Etta Bond of Delhi, Calif.; two sons, Toby Bond, Turlock, Calif, Solon Bond of Oklahoma City; six daughters, Celia Yingling of Pocasset, Mrs. Sylvia Gentry of Oklahoma City, Mrs. May Parker of Monterey Park, Calif., Mrs. Lillie Rainey of Pocasset, Mrs. Dovie Coonce of Bethany, Mrs. Minnie Thompson of Arcadia, Calif.; Three brothers, Solon Bond of Phoenix, Ariz., Walter Bond of Peru, Neb., and Leo Bond of Oklahoma City; a sister, Mrs. Celia Darnald of Minto, Calif; 29 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. Interment will be in Chickasha Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home of Verden. |
© The Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma August 12, 1985 Etta M. [Shaw] Bond January 5, 1899 ~ August 9, 1985 Former Chickasha resident Etta M. Bond of Claremore died Friday, August 9, in Claremore's regional medical center at the age of 86. She had lived in Claremore for the past eight years. Mrs. Bond was born on January 5, 1899. She was the daughter of Robert and Mattie Elizabeth Ray Shaw. Survivors include two sons, Tobie L. Bond of Oakdale, Calif. and Solon L. Bond of Claremore; six daughters, Celia Yingling of Pocasset, Sylvia Gentry of Oklahoma City, Mae O'Malley of Apple Valley, Calif., Dovie Coonce of Claremore and Linda DeForie of Vella Park, Calif.; one sister Onie Free of Chickasha; two brothers, Ben Shaw and Ernest Shaw both of Oklahoma City; 29 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at Chickasha's Church of the Nazarene where Mrs. Bond was a member. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Claremore Funeral Home. |
