© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, December 4, 2009 Carol Dean [Baxter] Barnes January 3, 1934 ~ November 28, 2009 Funeral service for Carol Dean Baxter Barnes of Ft. Worth, Texas, former Chickasha resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2009 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha. Dr. Douglas Sikes, Northside Church of Christ, will be officiating. Carol Dean Baxter Barnes passed away on November 28, 2009 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 75. She was born January 3, 1934 near Cement, Oklahoma, the daughter of Garl and Viola Baxter. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1951. On September 4, 1954, she married Kenneth Barnes in Chickasha at the 16th and Florida Church of Christ and later moved to Fort Worth, Texas. They celebratedtheir Golden Anniversary in September, 2004. She was employed at Consolidated Gas in Chickasha while Kenneth completed his senior year at the University of Oklahoma. Carol was a loving mother, devoted wife, den mother,community volunteer and Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: Husband: Kenneth Barnes of the home, 2 sons: Mark Barnes of Wichita Falls, TX, Kevin Barnes and wife, Tina, of Weatherford, OK, 4 grandsons: Christopher and wife, Adrienne; Kevin Jr., Keaton and Kyle, 4 sisters: Violet Demcheshen of Okmulgee, Barbara Amstuz of Chickasha, Juanita Briscoe of Everman, TX, Sherry Cooper of Chickasha. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. The family requests expressions of sympathy in the form of a contribution to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. |
