Herbert George Starkey
February 24, 1914 ~ April 1, 2007


Services for Herbert G. Starkey, 93, of Minco, will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco. Jim Ross of the Minco Church of Christ will officiate.

Herbert G. Starkey was born on February 24, 1914 in Oklahoma City to Joseph James and Beatrice [Strever] Starkey.

He died on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at his home in Minco. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Herbert George Starkey
February 24, 1914 ~ April 1, 2007


Funeral services for Herbert G. Starkey, 93 of Minco will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007 10 am at the First Baptist Church of Minco with Jim Ross of the Minco Church of Christ officiating.

Herbert G. Starkey was born February 24, 1914 at Oklahoma City to Joseph James and Beatrice [Strever] Starkey and died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at his home in Minco.

Mr. Starkey attended school from 1st - 8th grade at Crooked Oak in East OKC, then went to Capitol Hill for 9th - 11th and graduated from Minco High School after his Senior year. He farmed all of his life.

He served as a STAFF Sgt. in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, he served from 8-3-1943 to 11-29-1945 and was stationed in New Guinea and Australia.

Mr. Starkey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Minco and a member of the American Legion Minco Post #215.

Mr. Starkey was preceded in death by his parents J.J. and Beatrice Starkey; Three sisters: Grace Rowe, Hazel Malcom, and Elene Castillo.

He is survived by: One brother and sister-in-law: James and Betty Starkey of Minco; One brother-in-law: Dale Rowe of Pocasset; One sister: Lucille McComas of Chickasha and a host of nieces and nephews.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
