James Warren "Jim" Madison
July 13, 1948 ~ November 26, 2006


Services for James Warren "Jim" Madison, 58 former Minco resident were held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 1 pm at the Huber~Benson Chapel at 100 S. Barker in El Reno, with visitation beginning on Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 1pm - 8pm at the Huber~Benson Funeral Home in El Reno. Rev. Steven Shellhammer pastor of the Minco First Baptist Church will officiate and burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

James Warren "Jim" Madison was born July 13, 1948 at Minco to James H. and Kathryn Alma [Boaz] Madison and died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at his home in Port Aransas, Texas.

He was raised in the Minco community where he graduated from Minco High School. Mr. Madison had worked as a police officer at Chickasha for approximately four years and worked at the El Reno Federal Corrections Institute where he retired as a senior guard in 2001.

He was a member of ABATE- biking club - A Brotherhood Aiming Towards Education. He attended and organized many bike runs, toy drives, fund raisers and was also a motorcycle Santa all for ways to raise money and awareness for children. His next run was to be the Jim Madison Toy Project in Port Aransas, TX on December 9, 2006 which will still take place as the Jim Madison Memorial Toy Project - anyone wanting to donate in lieu of flowers can make checks or donations payable to Kelly Madison in c/o Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

Jim lived in the Minco community till his retirement in 2001 when he chose to travel and settle in Port Aransas, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James H. Madison and Kathryn Beaty.

Survivors include: a son: James "Kelly" Madison of Owasso, Oklahoma; two adopted boys: Kevin Fertic of Washington, Oklahoma and Robert Brown of Oologah, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: April, Austin, Alexis, and Kody Madison all of Owasso, Oklahoma.
