Funeral services for Verle Ray Jensen, 73, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with Ferguson Funeral Home.

Verle Ray Jensen was born March 26, 1931, in Minco, Okla., and died on Friday, November 12, 2004.

Funeral services for Verle Ray Jensen, 73, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Ross officiating.

Verle Ray Jensen was born March 26, 1931, the son of John Clifford Jensen, and Alma Marie Gordon Jensen. He died Friday, November 12, 2004. Verle was a lifelong resident of Grady County. He loved farming and spent most of his time working on the farm.

Verle married Bertha Louise McKelvy Jensen on November 23, 1949 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They spent 55 wonderful years together.

He was a Mason, a member of the Pocasset Lion's Club, the Grady County Mineral Owners Association, where he served as president, Grady County Cattleman's Association, the American Angus Association, The American Chianina Association, a licensed private pilot, and a member of the Oklahoma Flying Farmers. He served many years on the Amber Pocasset School Board. He was an avid supporter of the area 4-H and FFA chapters.

Verle was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Juanita Bartmess, and one grandson, Lonnie Don Jensen.

He is survived by his wife Bertha Jensen, of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law; Randy Jensen, of Pocasset, Eric and Sheri Jensen, of Minco; two granddaughters: Jamie and Rowdy Schrick, of Frederick, Krissie and Jacob Browning, of Minco; two grandsons: Michael and Jared Jensen; one granddaughter, Jade Jensen, all of Minco; four great grandchildren: Landon, Colby, and Mackenzie Copeland, and Kristen Schrick, and one sister Bonnie Engelke of Amber.

Interment will be in Minco Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
