January 30, 1923 ~ February 9, 2008 Warren Orville Davis, age 85, died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at an Oklahoma City health care facility after a short period of failing health. He was born January 30, 1923 in Republic, KS to Harvey W. and Lucille [Pettijohn] Davis and grew up in Republic. He was a graduate of Republic High School and served in the US Army during WWII. He was in the 104th Timberwolf Division and spent 195 days in WWII combat including the Battle of The Bulge where he earned both the Bronze Star and Silver Star. He moved with his wife to Minco in 1948 and worked for over 34 years for the Rock Island Railroad as a signalman. He served nine years as mayor of Minco, being elected the first term by a coin toss. He had been a resident of Mustang for the last several years where he was active at Mustang Senior Center. He was an ordained deacon in the First Baptist Church in Minco. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Delmar and two sisters Violet and Iona. Survivors include his wife of over 61 years, Dorothy of the home, two sons Michael Davis and wife Lynette of Mustang, Kenneth Davis and wife Kim of Oklahoma City, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother Dale Davis and wife Darlene of Mustang and one sister Ilene Duvall of Seattle, WA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, Oklahoma.
