© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, 22 September 2005 March 25, 1909 ~ September 20, 2005 Funeral service for Ralph Oren Burkey, 96, of Pocasset, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Ralph Oren Burkey was born March 25, 1909 in Grady County, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Edward and Sarah Burkey and died September 20, 2005 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Burkey lived in Grady County all of his life. He and Beatrice Slover were married for 72 years. They were married January 18, 1933. Mr. Burkey was a farmer and rancher west of Pocasset. He also worked as a cabinet maker for Perdue Company and Chickasha Mobile Homes. Mr. Burkey was preceded in death by: parents; one granddaughter: Cheryl Anne Burkey; two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: Wife: Beatrice Burkey of the home; three sons: James E. Burkey and wife, Mary Jane of Seminole; Jerry Burkey and wife Anita of Fletcher; Ronnie Joe Burkey of El Reno; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
