Services for Virgil Raymond Armstrong, 84, of Minco, OK will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Cogar Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Metcalfe and Rev. Kent Wood officiating.

Virgil Raymond Armstrong was born October 31, 1922 in Minco, OK to Rolla Bliss and Mary Anna [Morrison] Armstrong. He died on March 17, 2007 at Parkview Hospital in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Virgil Raymond Armstrong

Funeral services for Virgil Raymond Armstrong, 84 of Minco were held Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 2 p.m. at Cogar Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Metcalfe and Rev. Kent Wood with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, OK under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Virgil Raymond Armstrong was born October 31, 1922 at Minco, OK to Rolla Bliss and Mary Anna [Morrison] Armstrong and died March 17, 2007 at Parkview Hospital in El Reno, OK.

Virgil was a lifetime resident of Minco and a 1940 graduate of Minco High School. He was a farmer and a member of the Cogar Methodist Church, Minco Rodeo Club and a charter member of the Minco Trail Riders. Virgil was selected as the Caddo County REA Family Farmer of the month and selected as Minco High School Fan of the Year in 2004.

Virgil married Wanetta Marrow on November 4, 1946 at Wellington, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Mary Brewington and Alice Erwin; brothers: Maurice "Curly", Elmo "Red", Joe, Jack, and Robert Armstrong.

He is survived by his wife: Wanetta Armstrong of the home; daughters and son-in-law: Rita Croney and Sarah Rumley and husband Orville all of Minco; six grandchildren and their spouses: Jeff Croney of Minco, Michelle Booher and husband Clay of Piedmont, Jason Croney and his wife Amanda of Minco, Rusty Rumley of Norman, Nancy Rumley of Manhatten, Kansas, and Randy Rumley of Minco; four great-grandchildren: Zachery and Jennifer Croney of Minco and Tyler and Kelsey Meier of Piedmont.
