Edmond, Oklahoma
November 2010

Billy Ray "Bill" Anthony
September 6, 1930 ~ November 13, 2010

Edmond, Okla. — Billy Ray Anthony, 80, of Edmond was born to Charles and Martha Anthony in Oklahoma City, Okla., on September 6, 1930; he passed away on Nov. 13, 2010, surrounded by his pride and joy ... his family.

Bill lived an incredible life. He was admired as a God-fearing, honest man full of integrity. Although he was a driven man, he never felt that money and success was the goal … it was perfection. Many would say that Bill was the greatest man to ever put on a pair of shoes. You can only imagine how many lives he touched throughout his life of many interests. He touched lives as a general contractor in highway construction and heavy machinery until "retiring" to enter into the real estate market. He was also dedicated to prison and jail ministry. As a rancher who bred longhorns he served as President of National Longhorn Breeders Association and also as Executive Director of International Longhorn Breeders Association. Bill was also a Shriner and a foster parent in title and beyond. His passion for Oklahoma State athletics was undeniable. Bill married his true love Dolores on July 6, 1952, and celebrated their 58th anniversary this past summer.

Besides Dolores, he leaves behind his daughters, Sandy Chichester and son-in-law, Paul of Derby, Kan., and Pam LeGrand of Edmond; as well as three grandchildren, Paula Thomas and husband, Matt of Oklahoma City, Katy Lee and husband, Ariel of Derby, Kan., and Hannah LeGrand of Edmond; and one expected great-grandchild.

Services to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010, at The Edge Church in Edmond under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service with interment at Evergreen Cemetery near Minco, Okla.
