© Alex Tribune Alex, Oklahoma Friday, January 7, 1938 November 15, 1915 ~ December 30, 1937 Lowell Ward Dies At Uncle's Home Robert Lowell Ward passed on at 1:3 p.m., December 30th at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Brashears, after an illness of two years. Lowell had made his home with the Brashears family since the death of his mother when he was six years old, his father having passed on two years previously. He attended school at Bradley and Hawkins and made many friends wherever he became acquainted. Robert Lowell Ward was born November 17, 1915, at Prague, Oklahoma, the son of Robert and Mattie Ward. He accepted his Savior and found peace and comfort in life and bore his suffering patiently until the end. He was loved devotedly by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Rev. Earl Nowlin officiating, and interment was in the family plot at the Bradley cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Mrs. Earl Emerick of Shawnee, one brother, Byron Ward, of California, the uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Brashears, and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Bill Pike, Ray Foster, Jim Ramsey, Clarence Rayburn, Reese Wilson and Gladace Goyne. The flower girls were Betty Hubbard, Xelpho Cox, Florene Wilkins, Dovey Steelman, Bonnie Buchanan and Sadie Talley. |
