Boydsten Funeral Home Lindsay, Oklahoma August 2014 March 28, 1930 ~ August 17, 2014 Trula Faye Selzer was born on March 28, 1930 in Grady County, near Lindsay, Oklahoma, to John Oliver and Alice Burrous. Trula passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 84. She lived in the Lindsay and Bradley area all of her life, and she graduated from Lindsay High School in 1948. She married Kermit Selzer on October 6, 1949 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Trula was a member of the Catholic Church. She worked for seven years at Wal-mart in Lindsay, Oklahoma. After retirement from Wal-Mart, Kermit and Trula became snowbirds, and traveled to South Texas for the winter. Trula loved traveling with Kermit, dancing, and in the summers, they loved going to Texoma where she enjoyed riding her Sea-Doo. Her grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany, were her joy. Brittany spent many summers at the lake with her Grandma and Pa. Brandon always enjoyed the conversations with Grandma at the many dinners which the family had together. Trula and Kermit were married for 64 years. Trula is survived by her husband, Kermit Selzer, her daughter, Theresa Hooper and husband Bill, grandson, Brandon Hooper, granddaughter, Brittany Hooper, a very special friend, Frankie Anthony, and her other grandchildren, Mary, Missy, Mica, Martha and Molly. Mrs. Selzer was preceded in death by one son, Mike Selzer and her parents, John Oliver and Alice Burrous. Funeral services for Mrs. Selzer are set for ten o’clock a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, located at 308 S.W. 3rd Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Kendall Brashears officiating. Interment will follow at Bradley Cemetery in Bradley, Oklahoma. |

Boydsten Funeral Home Lindsay, Oklahoma August 2013 June 3, 1938 ~ August 17, 2013 Lois Fay Selzer of Bradley, Oklahoma departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Shanoan Springs Residence in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Fay was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Robert and Ivan Dell [Clark] Green. Fay married Charles Ray Selzer on August 6, 1955. They had three children: Jay, Gay, and Kay. Fay was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She worked at Eubanks Department Store doing alterations and worked as a custodian for the Alex Public Schools. In her younger married life, while living in Arizona, she loved square dancing with Ray in the Phoenix Twirlers Group. Fay was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bradley, Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Washita Valley Home Extension Club, served as a volunteer for the Bradley Fire Department, and was an avid volunteer at the Bradley Community center. Fay enjoyed sewing, crafting and gardening, and she loved entertaining her grandchildren. Mrs.Selzer is survived by her son, Jay Selzer and wife Debbie, her two daughters: Gay Pettit and husband David, and Kay England and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren: Emery Selzer, Kristi Hoehman, Jon Selzer, Devery Pettit, Scott England, and Nic England; great-grandchildren: Gracie Selzer, Ray Pettit, Oliver Selzer, Scarlett Selzer, Samie Jo England, Owen Pettit, Rylan Hoehman, Clara Jane England, Hunter England, and Reed Hoehman and one sister, Jean Tucker. Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ivan Dell Green, brothers: Bill, Bob and Jack Green, sisters: Daisy Harrington, Bernice Plumb, and Geneva "Pete" Plumb. Funeral Services for Mrs. Selzer are Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at two o'clock p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Bradley, Oklahoma, with Reverend Donald Hogue officiating. Interment will follow at Bradley Cemetery, Bradley, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Gladys Lee Selzer, of Lindsay, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 74. She was born December 7, 1946 in Lindsay to Ernest and Gracie [Taylor] Stroud. Gladys was a longtime resident of Lindsay and was currently working at the Gas-in-Go in Lindsay as the store manager, where she has been employed since 1991. She married Roy Ben Selzer on July 31, 1965. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Gracie Stroud; her husband, Roy Ben Selzer in 1992; a brother, Doug Stroud, and two sisters, Joyce Rushing and Cathy Hawkins. Gladys is survived by her two children, Cynthia Ferguson and Bobby Selzer; a brother, Ernest Stroud; and her 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha, Oklahoma. |
