Vernie Jewell [Cofer] Gilpatrick Johnston
June 3, 1916 ~ May 16, 1977


Funeral service for Mrs. Vernie Jewel [Cofer] Johnston, 60, Alex will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Brown-Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay with Rev. Eddie Wynn of Greenfield, Tex., officiating.

Mrs. Johnston was born June 3, 1916 in Coleman, Ala. She died Monday in Kinder, LA.

Mrs. Johnston came to the Alex community with her parents in 1916 and lived in the area all her life.

She was minister of Bradley Full Gospel Church and served as a minister for 35 years. She and Paul Johnston were married in November 1959 in Bradley.

Survivors include her husband Paul of the home, two sons, C. Ray Williams of Bartlesville and Ron Boen of Dallas, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Pat Olds of Dallas and Mrs. Sue Landry of Kinder, LA, 14 grandchildren and three great grandsons.

Interment will be in Bradley Cemetery.
