© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 1958 Oliver Davis March 21, 1962 - August 19, 1958 OLIVER DAVIS RITES SATURDAY AUGUST 21, 1958 Funeral services for Oliver Davis, 96, a pioneer farmer of Alex, will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Alex Methodist Church. Mr. Davis died 5:55 p.m. Thursday at home. He was born March 21, 1862, in Texas and moved to Alex in 1931. His wife Ellen died in 1954. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Emma Wilson of Oildale, Calif., and Mrs. Creal Stephens of Chickasha, three sons Harmon of California, Horace of Telephone, Texas, and Creed Davis of Alex, 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were, Garland Cunningham, Cecil Kilby, Cecil Lane, Frank Lindley, Glen Williams, and George Hise. Interment was in Bradley Cemetery under the direction of Sevier's Chickasha Funeral Home. |

DAVIS Funeral services for Mrs Mary Ellen Davis were conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in Alex Methodist Church by Rev. W. M. Allen, pastor. The songs,'Rock of Ages','"Sweet Bye and Bye' and 'When the Roll is Called Up Yonder,' were sung by a chorus composed of Mrs. Dial Baker, Mrs. Edythe Webster, Mrs. Don Timberlake, Mrs Ples Williams, Mrs. Dave Crockett, Lewis Sloan, and C. L. Morgan. They were accompained by Mrs. E. H. Yount. Pallbearers were; George Gilpatrick, John Carter, Cecil Kilby, John Kilby, Jodie, Eads, and George Hise. W.M. Allen, pastor of the Alex Methodist Church, will conduct funeral services for Mrs Mary Ellen Davis, 82, at 4 p.m. today in the Alex Methodist church. Mrs Davis died in her home at Alex at 11 p.m. Friday. She had been in failing health for the past six years. Mrs Davis was resident of the Lucile community before moving to Alex in 1940. She was a member of the Methodist church. Suvivors include her husband, Oliver, three sons, Harmon of Buckeye, Ariz., Horace of Telephone, Texas, and Creed of Alex; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Wilson of Bakersfield. Ca, and Mrs. Creal Stephens of Ninnekah; 21 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Interment was in Bradley Cemetery under the direction of Chickasha Funeral Home. Funeral services for Gabriel and Emma are set for 8:30 a.m. Monday at Bradley Cemetery in Bradley. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay.
