August 10, 1934 ~ January 5, 2012 Ruth Lewis, 77, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her home in Cox City. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Bailey Cemetery with Randall Pitts officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Ruth was born Friday, August 10, 1934 in Telephone, TX, to Deliss Clines and Bertha (Reevis) Clines. Ruth lived Crane, Texas before moving to the Cox City area in 1994. She attended school in Ethel, Oklahoma. Ruth married Harold Lewis in Hobbs, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2001. Ruth was a wonderful cook and loved to make all kinds of pies. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and working in her flower and vegetable garden. Survivors include, six sons, Jimmy LaNeave of Cox City, Roy LaNeave of Cox City, Eugene Lewis of Lindsay, Jessie Lewis of Cox City, Johnny Lewis of Cox City, Mikal Lewis of Cox City, two daughters, Dena James-Rose of Stillwater, Patricia Lewis-Porter of Cox City, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Martha LaBlanc of Pensacola, FL, Thelma (Chigger) Dennett of Vadelia, LA, Imagene Perry of Hobbs, NM, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Billie Don Lewis, Kelly Lewis and daughter, Linda LaNeave Perry. Memorial contributions may be made to Aspire Hospice. |
