© Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Rush Springs, Oklahoma February 2005 George Wesley Evans Sr January 29, 1922 ~ February 19, 2005 George Wesley Evans, Sr., 83, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Duncan Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, at Bailey Church, with Rev. Bill Long officiating. Burial was held in the Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Callaway~Smith~Cobb Funeral Home. Born January 29, 1922, to Sam and Otie [Russell] Evans, in Graham, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a farmer who enjoyed fishing and working around the house. On September 7, 1945, he married Geneva Todd, in Montague, Texas. He was preceded in Death by hs parents. Survivors in addition to his wife, Geneva, of the home include: a son and daughter~in~law, George Wesley, Jr. and Carol Evans, of Foster, three daughters and two sons~in~law, Neva and Floyd Morris of Lindsay, Onita and Buster Yarbrough of Cox City and Vicki Fisher of Marlow; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Edna Wilson of Marlow; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Wesley Evans, Jr., Robert Morris, Jason Evans, Wesley Evans III, Curtis Smith, and Joe Webb. Honorary bears were Jeff Turner, Terry Spivey and Floyd . . . . . |
