Oscar was the son of Benjamin Franklin Davis and Laura Marzie Edwards-Davis Oscar Franklin Davis married Margaret Pearl Archer in 1917. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 29 at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. A graveside service will be held at a later time at the Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith- Cobb Funeral Home of Marlow. Maxine was born Sunday, November 24, 1929 in Stephens County, Oklahoma, to Elbert and Kathryn [Garvin] Taylor. Maxine live most of her life in the Marlow area. In 1948 Maxine married Ira Edward Davis in Waurika, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2000. She loved to work in her yard, especially using her riding lawnmower. Maxine enjoyed sewing, cooking, and feeding people. She was an avid fan of all sports. A highlight for Maxine was the time she attended an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Maxine was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: three sons, Ken Davis of Marlow, Mike Davis and wife Cheryl of Duncan, Roger Davis and wife Donna of Marlow, two daughters, Kathy McFarland of Lawton, Joann Davis and husband Gary Church of Huntsville, Texas, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, brother, Buck Taylor and sister, Wanda King, both of Phoenix, Arizona. Maxine lived most of her life in the Marlow area and was of the Baptist faith. In 1948 she married Ira Edward Davis in Waurika, Oklahoma, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2000. An avid fan of all sports, her greatest wish was to see the Atlanta Braves play baseball, a wish that was fulfilled in 2007 when her family surprised her with tickets to watch them play the Houston Astros. Maxine also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her yard, especially using her riding lawnmower. Survivors include three sons: Ken Davis of Marlow; Mike Davis and wife Cheryl of Duncan; Roger Davis and wife Donna of Marlow; two daughters: Kathy McFarland of Lawton; Joann Davis and husband Gary Church of Huntsville, Texas; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Buck Taylor, and sister Wanda King, both of Phoenix, Arizona. Maxine was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Josephine and Nancy.
