© Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, May 2, 1977 May 28, 1917 ~ April 30, 1977 Funeral service for Coleman Edward Welborn, 59, 512 South Fifth, was today in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home, with Mr. Jim Sheerer, pastor of the Central Church of Christ, officiating. Mr. Welborn was born May 28, 1917 at Blue, Okla. He died Saturday in Grady Memorial Hospital. Mr. Welborn lived in Chickasha all of his life moving here as an infant with his parents. A farmer, rancher, and retired government employee, with the ASCS office for 27 years. Mr. Welborn retired four years ago because of ill health. He married Fay Elliot on July 4, 1942 in Chickasha. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Fay of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon O'Neal of Chickasha, Mrs. Shella Fitzgerald of Choctaw, Okla.; his mother, Mrs. John Munn of Chickasha; two brothers, Truman Welborn of Fort Worth, Tex. and Reginal Welborn of McKinney, Tex.; four grandsons. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in the First Missouri Church of Christ building fund or the Tipton's Orphan's Home Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery. |
© Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, Deccember 29, 1983 June 28, 1921 ~ December 25, 1983 Funeral service for Fay Welborn, 62, of 512 S. 5th, Chickasha, were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 1983 in the Chapel of the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home, Officiating Clergy was Dr. Sam Evans assisted by Jim Sheerer. She and Colman Welborn were married on July 4, 1942 at Chickasha. She and her husband were farmers and ranchers East of Chickasha, until they moved to Chickasha in 1974. Mrs. Welborn was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Chickasha. She was preceded in death by: her husband - Colman on April 30, 1977, 1 brother, Joseph, and twin sisters - Josephine and Irene. She is survived by: her parents W.T. [Till] and Lula Elliott of Searcy, Ark., 2 daughters - Sharon O'Neal of Chickasha, Shella Fitzgerald of Marlow, 3 brothers - Merle Elliott of Indianapolis, Ind., 1 sister - Damie Carter of Chickasha, and 4 grandsons. Memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ for the Church of Christ in Bermuda. Interment was held in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. |
