Funeral services for Delmar L. Wade, 69, of Amber, will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with David Trammell officiating and Jerry Auld and Delbert Comstock assisting.

Delmar Lloyd Wade was born August 17, 1939, in Anadarko, Oklahoma the son of John Thomas Wade and Martha Elizabeth Willis Wade. He died Saturday, March 14, 2009, in Amber.

As a child Delmar moved to Wynnewood and attended Wynnewood High School.

On May 20, 1960 he married Leola Faye Simmons in Gainsville, Texas.

Delmar spent over forty years being employed with Melton Ford and Chickasha New Holland as a diesel technician.

Delmar loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved to restore and drive race cars.

He recently was voted best mechanic in the Grady County Readers Choice Awards.

He was preceded in death by both parents, brother; E.J. Wade and sisters; Lucille Brooks and Letha Mae Welch.

Survivors include his wife Leola Faye of the home; daughter and son-in-law Pamela Dell and Randall Frenchman of Amber, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Sheila Wade of Nowata, Oklahoma; granddaughters; Jonna Michelle Hood of Seattle, Washington; Brooke Ellen Mosier of Amber, Oklahoma; grandsons; Randy Powell of Amber, Oklahoma and Tyler and Michael Wade both of Nowata, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Mid First Bank. Please make all contributions to the Delmar L. Wade Fund.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home., in Anadarko, Oklahoma the son of John Thomas Wade and Martha Elizabeth Willis Wade. He died Saturday, March 14, 2009, in Amber.

Leola Faye Simmons Wade
December 13, 1940 ~ April 21, 2020


Leola Wade, age 79 of Purcell, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Sunset Estates Nursing Home. Leola Faye Simmons was born December 13, 1940 in Maysville, OK, the oldest of 7 children and only daughter of Lee Price Simmons and Geneva Mae [Sproles] Simmons.

She was raised in Elmore City and attended school there, graduating with the Badger Class of 1959.

On May 20, 1960, Leola married the love of her life, a young man from Wynnewood named Delmer Lloyd Wade. They made their home in Amber where together they raised two children, son Kevin and daughter Pam.

Leola worked at area hospitals and nursing homes as an LPN for many years. Her kind nature and genuine concern for people helped her care for many people in her nursing career. She was a woman of strong faith and she loved her church family at Landmark Church in Purcell. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed traveling a bit and visiting with family and friends. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her son, Kevin Lee Wade; Her husband, Delmer Lloyd Wade; Her parents, Lee and Geneva Simmons and 6 brothers, Lee, Benny, Ronny, Daniel, Glen and an infant Joe Allen.

Leola is survived by: Her daughter, Pam Frenchman of Chickasha; Daughter-in-law, Sheila Wade of Garber; 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Randy, Michael, Brooke and Jonna and 5 great grandchildren, Khloey, Marley, Miley, Macey and Dawsyn; Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 24, 2020, at the Amber Cemetery in Amber, OK. Send your love and encouragement with the family at www.wilsonlittle.com.
