© The Chickasha Express-Star Sunday, November 14, 2010 February 9, 1927 ~ November 11, 2010 Funeral services for Julia Ann Shattuck Ridge, 83, of Chickasha, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 in the Bible Baptist Church at 29th & Iowa, Chickasha, Okla. Ridge was born February 9, 1927, in Guymon, Okla., the daughter of Ralph E. Shattuck and Geneva E. Bates Shattuck. She died Thursday, November 11, 2010, in Oklahoma City. Julia's early childhood was spent in Guymon, Oklahoma, later moving to Guthrie and during her Senior year to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Stillwater High School. She attended business college in Oklahoma City, and attended Oklahoma A&M College. She married Perry Ridge on February 14, 1948, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They later moved to Amber where they raised their five children. She had been employed as a secretary with the Am-Po Public Schools, Grady County Youth Services, and had been a secretary for Bob Hayes Law Firm. Julia was also a foster grandparent in Chickasha and Friend for thirteen years. Julia was a member of Sweet Adelines for seventeen years, a member of Friend Home Extension Club for several years, and also a member of New Life Christian Church. Julia was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Perry Ridge, three brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Roland Perry Ridge II and Deborah Ridge, of Denton, TX.; daughter and son-in-law, Lanelle and Fred Shelton of Amber; son, Larry Ridge of Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Garry Drake of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Deanna Ridge of Marlow; one sister, Geneva Shattuck of California; seventeen grandchildren, Rodney, Angela, Charissa, Heath, Devonna, Haley, Tammy, Chad, Patricia, Erica, Jeffrey, Candice, Jamie, Scott, Rachelle, Jordan, and Ryan; also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, Kaley, Hallie, Brooklynn, Tristan, Kylie, Rylan, Hayden, Maddison, Cash, Brynlie, Rhyse, Halen, Dallas, Deaven, Jordanne, Scott, Beatrix, and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
