Vallie Moore was born March 12, 1935, and died on Thursday, June 17, 2004, at his home in Amber. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma June 20, 1991 March 12, 1935 ~ June 17, 2004 Funeral services for Vollie Harvey Moore, 69, of Amber, Oklahoma, will be held Monday, June 21, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chickasha, with Brother Kenneth Walker and Dewain Jones officiating. Vollie Harvey Moore was born March 12, 1935, in Fort Reno, Oklahoma, to Carl H. Moore and Evelyn [Ward] Moore, and died Thursday June 17, 2004, at his home in Amber, Oklahoma. Volie married Loretta Mae Gilbert on February 9, 1954, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. During the 1950s Vollie served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. After leaving the armed forces, he was a cross country truck driver for many years, he served as an ordained minister for the Church of God, and he owned and operated Pops Antique Shop in Chickasha until his time of death. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until his health prevented him from attending. He was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Ronald L. Moore, one grandson, Kylie Robinson, and one brother, Carl Dexter Moore. Survivors include his wife Loretta Moore, of the home; four sons; Garry and Guwanna Moore, Terry and Charlotte Moore , of Amber, Oklahoma, Michael and Robyn Moore, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Carl E. Moore of Little Axe, Oklahoma; two daughters: Angela and Bob Kinzinger, of Amber, Oklahoma, and Carol and Johnny Miller of Chickasha, Oklahoma; one brother, Elip M. Moore of Noble, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren: Charlene, Sandra, Carli, Nicole, Chris, Carl Lee, Sabrina, Allison, Jeremy, Nick, Dustin, Greg, Summer; 4 great grandchildren; Lillie, Dakota, Charles and Christopher. Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery, in Amber, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
© Ferguson Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma May 2021 November 14, 1936 ~ May 13, 2021 Graveside services for Loretta Mae Moore, 84, formerly of Amber, will be held in the Amber Cemetery. Loretta Mae [Gilbert] Moore was born November 14, 1936 in Apache, Oklahoma to Jim Gray Gilbert and Edith Pearl [Lemon] Gilbert. She died on Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Loretta grew up in the Fletcher/Cyril area and attended Fletcher schools. On February 9, 1954, she married Vollie Harvey Moore in Chickasha and they had 50 years together until his passing in 2004. Loretta spent many years raising her family and making a home. When her youngest started school, she applied herself and became a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). She worked at Shanoan Springs Nursing Center for 25 years, then went on for about 10 more years to do private sitting. After she retired, she helped with the grandbabies. She enjoyed working with her roses in her yard and crocheting. Loretta had most recently attended church at College Heights. She was preceded in death by both parents, many siblings, her twin brother Ed Gilbert, her husband, Vollie Moore and her son Ronald Lynn Moore. Survivors include her children V. Garry Moore and wife Guwanna of Chickasha, Carl E. Moore of Chickasha, Terry W. Moore of Amber, Michael D. Moore and wife Robyn of Chickasha, Angela Kinzinger and husband Robert of Chickasha and Carol Miller of Chickasha; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
