© The Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, April 29, 2007 June 27, 1928 ~ September 5, 2018 Funeral service for Irene Frances Lee, age 65, of Amber, OK, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ building. Steve Parker will officiate and Jim Sheerer will assist, both of whom are cherished, long time friends of Irene and Bill. Born in Oklahoma City to Tom and Faye Dean on March 21, 1942, she later moved to and grew up in Blanchard, OK. She graduated from Blanchard High in 1960 and was married to the love of her life, Bill, on September 24, 1960. In August, 1961, she began her journey as a beloved and devoted mother to first son Boyd and then Eddie in April, 1964. Her Lord and her family were the focal points of her life and she rarely failed to maintain and strengthen both relationships. She rarely missed a ballgame or school event of her boys and later her grandchildren, nor did she often miss a worship service to her Lord. Irene was an abstractor in the Title & Abstract business for 24 years beginning at Cochran Abstract in Chickasha and retiring from American Guaranty Title in 2004. She was a devoted teacher and mentor to hundreds of young people who grew up in her Sunday school classes and studied from the Bible curriculum she developed for them at 16th & Florida Church of Christ and later at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. When cancer struck her in early 1985, it was Irene who remained strong and helped everyone else through the pain of her cancer. Regardless of her own desires, she tirelessly worked to ease discomforts in others and to help them find peace in God. Irene Lee quietly impacted many people in and around Chickasha, OK, and she will be missed. Her pain and suffering ended on April 25, 2007 while at home with her husband, Bill, of 46 years. She left while in the company of the two she loved the most, Jesus and Bill. In addition to Bill, Irene is survived by two sons, Boyd and his wife Susie of Chickasha, and Eddie and his wife Cindy of Lindsay, and five beautiful grandchildren, Josh, Kellie, Jay, Shelby and Shannon. Also surviving is her father-in-law, W. J. of Chickasha, one sister, Lorene Bridges of Blanchard, and one brother, Larry Dean of Deltaville, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
