March 6, 1969 ~ February 23, 2019 Eric Anthony “Tony” Layman, 46, of College Station, Texas, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, located in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Ezell Nelson officiating. Eric Anthony “Tony” Layman was born March 6, 1972 in Madison, Indiana to Gary Wayne and Hope Irene [Bonesteel] Layman. He passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 in College Station, Texas. He grew up and graduated in Chickasha. After high school he attended USAO and then went to work as a computer programmer and had worked in Oklahoma, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Texas. He got married in 1991 to Glenda Yancy and to this marriage his two children were born. Eric liked to fish and hunt and loved the outdoors. His life focus was his children. He loved them very much. He gave his life to his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the young age of 8 years old. He was very active in the many youth activities with his church. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Eileen Layman and Wayne and Marie Bonesteel. Eric is survived by his children, Hatch Layman of Aloha, Oregon and Austin Layman of College Station, Texas; Parents, Gary and Hope Layman of Chickasha; brothers, Mike Layman of Sanford, Florida and Tim Layman and his wife Sharry of Houston, Texas; Niece and nephew, Jesseca and Jacob Layman; uncles and aunts, Mark and Janet Layman of Euless, Texas and Linda and Marvin “Vic” Peterson of Shattuck, Oklahoma; and other extended family members and friends. A visitation for the family to receive friends will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 27th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Christian Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association. Interment will be in Amber Cemetery, Amber, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
