© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 12, 2010 William Thomas Dean February 24, 1929 ~ August 10, 2010 Funeral service for William Thomas Dean, age 81 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robert Dye and Rev. Mike McReynolds will officiate. William Thomas Dean was born the son of Benjamin Dean and Era Duncan Dean on February 24, 1929, in Idabell, Oklahoma. He died on August 10, 2010, in Chickasha. W. T. moved to Chickasha at a young age. He married Winnie Pauline Hightower on April 22, 1940 in Pocasset, Oklahoma. W. T. served in the United States Navy from May 25, 1948 to March 13, 1950. He worked as a civilian employee at Tinker Air Force Base from 1952 to 1984 as an electrician. W. T. played in several blue grass bands and was past president of the Greater Oklahoma Blue Grass Music Society. He was currently serving as vice president of the Borden Community Center. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Era Dean; wife, Pauline; two brothers, Jesse and Doyle Dean; three sisters, Anita Forsythe, Aileene Posey and Mertis Scott. Survivors include: Daughter & Husband: Charlotta & Terry Atwell of Ninnekah, Daughter & Husband: Gail & Bob Sims of Ninnekah, Daughter & Husband: Maggie and Quentin Griffith of Chickasha, Granddaughter & Husband: Tamara & Jack Fisher of Ninnekah, Grandson & Wife: Jeff & Melissa Atwell of Ninnekah, Grandson & Wife: Jimmy & Lori Sims of Rowlett, Texas, Grandson: Billy Sims of Phoenix, Arizona, Grandson: Tony Sims of Tulsa, Eight Great Grandchildren, Sister & Husband: Violet & Ed Johnson, Brother-in-law: Olen Hightower, Sister-in-law: Freida Dean, Sister-in-law: Alphus Bentley, numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Atwell officiating. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
