© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, July 14, 2009 Anthony "Tony" Welsh June 22, 1928 ~ July 9, 2009 Funeral service for Anthony "Tony" Welsh, 81, of Alex, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2009 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. On July 9, 2009, Anthony "Tony" Welsh of Alex joined his wife, Wilma, who preceded him in death on December 1, 2007. Tony was born on June 22, 1928 to Michael and Mary Welsh of New Orleans. Tony met Wilma when he was a young man in the Army stationed at Ft. Sill. After a brief courtship,they married on April 25, 1955. Tony was a hard working man. He worked in the oilfield most of his life, only retiring last year at at the age of 80. He loved the outside. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and any work on the outside. His main love was his family. He enjoyed family get togethers, especially around the holidays. Tony was preceded in death by: Parents: Michael and Mary Welsh, Wife: Wilma Welsh, 1 son: James Dexter Welsh,1 grandson: Bobby Obrien. Survivors include: 4 daughters: Carol Welsh Obrien of New Orleans, Pat Perry and husband Duane of Chickasha, Pam Welsh of the home, Paula Darby and husband Brad of Moore, OK, 5 grandchildren: Gena Gardner, Michael Gardner, Jessica Barry, Amanda Vowell, and Chandra Perry. 5 great grandchildren and many family and friends. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
