Welborn Mooney Timberlake
January 23, 1873 ~ March 29, 1939

Another Pioneer Called By The Grim Reaper

Wilburn M. Timberlake passed on from his home here early Friday morning, after having been in failing health with diabetes for the past three months. It was only within the week prior to his passing that his condition was thought to be serious.

Funeral services, in charge of the Brown Funeral Home, Lindsay, were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon with Rev. M. F. Bell conducting the rites.

Burial was in the Morris cemetery.

Wilburn M. Timberlake was born January 23, 1873, in the state of Tennessee, a son of Fountain Pitts Timberlake.

He was married in 1892 to Miss Alice Thompson, and the family came to Alex in 1908 and have since resided here.

Becoming a member of the Methodist church in his native state, Mr. Timberlake united with that denomination after becoming a resident here.

He was an exceptionally kind man and a good neighbor. When he could be of service to his fellow citizens he made it a point to do so, carrying on in his quiet way while his services were needed.

He spent his active years in farming and in the retail oil and gasoline business.

He leaves to mourn his loss the widow, four sons, Sam of El Reno and Dave, Floyd and Earl of this town, and two daughters, Mrs. Lulu Brand of California and Mrs. Eva McAlister of Wayne. One daughter died in infancy.
