Thomas, age 83, of Chickasha will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Bible Baptist Church of Chickasha. Jane E. Thomas was born May 15, 1922 in Chickasha. She married Lewis L. Thomas February 21, 1946 in Enid, Okla. He prececed her in death in 1970. Jane had worked for SBC for 36 years. During World War Two she worked as "Jane the Riverter" riveting airplanes for the War effort. She was also a Jitterbug Queen. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Rebekah Lodge, The Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a volunteer at the hospital, food pantry and Meals on Wheels. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy Hill; four brothers, Roger, Budd, Clarence and Bob Snell; and one grandson, Devin Chapman. Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Chapman & husband Robert of Chickasha, Joetta Caudill & husband Mike Metzger of Alexandria, KY, and Barbara Crawford & husband Jack of Chickasha; one granddaughter, Amber Smith of Chickasha; six grandsons, Justin Chapman of Chickasha, Shane Caudill of Florence, KY, Eric Caudill of Erlinger, KY, Sean Crawford of Kirksville, MO, Mathew Crawford and Nathan Crawford of Chickasha; and eight great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery, Alex, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home |
