Taylor was born June 22, 1934, and died July 25, 2003, in Oklahoma City.. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma July 28, 2003 Hollis Dale Taylor June 22, 1934 ~ July 25, 2003 Funeral service for Hollis Dale Taylor, age 69, of Alex, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in the Alex United Methodist Church. Rev. William Forrest will officiate, and Rev. Dan Brinkman will assist. Hollis Dale Taylor was born the son of E. E. Taylor and Beulah Bounds Taylor on June 22, 1934. He died on July 25, 2003, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dale grew up and attended school in Albany, Texas. He moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where he began working in the oilfield. Dale later moved to Tatum, New Mexico, where he met Shirley Harris. They were married on June 23, 1956. Six months later he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to New Mexico. Dale and Shirley later moved to Las Vegas, and he worked in concrete construction. Eventually, they moved back to Texas where Dale returned to working in the oilfield for Loffland Brothers Drilling. In 1970, they moved to Alex. Dale continued working for Loffland Brothers Drilling for seventeen years. He then worked for Mesa Petroleum as a drilling foreman until retiring in 1999. Dale was a member of the Alex United Methodist Church. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: wife: Shirley Taylor of Alex; daughter and husband: Latricia and Dan Brinkman of Dumas, Texas; three grandchildren: Adam, Cassie, and Brittni Brinkman of Dumas, Texas; son: Kenneth Dale Taylor of Chickasha; mother and mother-in-law: Travis and Era Harris of Alex; half-sister: Nancy Newson of San Antonio, Texas; half-brother: Jack Taylor of Euless, Texas. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alex Community Center. |
© Wadley's Funeral Service Purcell, Oklahoma July 24, 2014 Stella Louise Taylor June 8, 1938 ~ July 22, 2015 Stella Louise Taylor died July 22, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years 1 month 14 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Wadley's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma under the care of Wadley's Funeral Service. Stella was born June 8, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Alvin Lawson and Edna Katherine [Whitson] Taylor. She was raised in Oklahoma City, attending Central High School. Stella married Bruce Spicer in Oklahoma City on September 30, 1960. She worked in the restaurant industry for many years. Her jobs included waitress, business owner and cook extra ordinaire. Stella loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing her poker games, scratch off lottery tickets, cooking, watching game shows and music. Stella was loved by many, and spent her life giving of herself to the people who meant so much to her. It didn't matter whether they were family, friend, or those that had no one else. Stella fed and took care of them out of the kindness of her huge heart. Always giving, rarely taking. She gave joy to the many people she served in her years as a waitress and a cook. Even after retiring from the service industry, people would comment on how much they missed her cooking. Stella's days of suffering and pain are now over, she is now amongst the angels with the loved ones who left before her. She will be missed by so many whose lives she touched and our hearts will forever be filled with the love she so openly gave. Stella is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Edna Taylor; sisters, Lois Ruth Tyrell and Starline Ann Shotts; brother, Thomas Lawson Taylor; niece, Kathy Marsh; and son-in-law, Skooter Gregory. Survivors include her daughters, Tina Linge and husband, Doug, Penny Gregory and partner, Glenn Dale Nixon; son, Tom Spicer; sisters, Mildred Marsh and husband, Lester, Penny Fowler and husband, James; grandchildren, Sundance & Peter Ruud, Justin & Sarah Linge, Crystal Gregory & Michael Miller; Chris & Belinda Gregory, Dylan & Christina Linge, Kylan & Juliann Gregory, Krystina Spicer, Zeke Gregory, Jake Linge & Cassandra Ziehl, Destiny Gregory and boyfriend, Billy Horn, Wyatt Gregory; great grandchildren, Aussion & Freya Ruud, Ireland & Moira Linge, Kyla Gregory, Taylor Pawpa, Christine Johnson, Mikayla & Lil Michael Miller, Angel & Zachary Gregory, Layla Linge; great great grandchildren, Aspen Burton, Bryar Gregory, and 2 on the way, Graisyn Linge and Baby Horn; and numerous nieces, nephews, adopted family and special friends. |

November 19, 2014 Starline Anne "Star" [Taylor] Shotts April 6, 1942 ~ November 19, 2014 Starline married William Chan Shotts July 1, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She and Chan had one son named Keith Wayne who lives in Burkburnette, Tx. Chan proceeded her in death February 6, 2009 in Wichita Falls Texas. They will have a joint service Saturday November 29th, 2014 in Alex Cemetery, Alex Oklahoma in the Taylor Family Plot. May you both rest in peace. |
