© Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Northwest Edition Fayetteville, Arkansas August 22, 2007 Hazel Florence Speer December 29, 1916 ~ August 20, 2007 Hazel Florence Speer, 90, of Gary, Texas, joined her husband, W. R. Speer, in glory on August 20, 2007. She was a retired school teacher, loving mother and faithful ministry partner with her husband for over 40 years. Her hobbies included quilting, crossword puzzles and gardening. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her hot rolls. She is survived by two brothers, J. E. Hunter and Ted Hunter; one sister, Cecil St. Cyr; two daughters, Joyce Fagala [Dan] and Mary Ceren [Dale]; seven sons, Don [Carolyn], James [Barbara], Paul [Phyllis], John [Jan], Charles [Linda], David [Angie] and Ben [Melissa]; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Graveside service will be 4 p. m. Thursday, August 23, at Alex Cemetery in Alex, Okla. Services are under the direction of Hawthorne Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas, and Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha, Okla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to W. R. and Hazel Speer Memorial Scholarship Fund at Central Baptist College, 1501 College Ave., Conway, Ark. 72034. |
