W. W. "Ward" Smith
1902 ~ April 11, 1926

Death of Young Man

Ward Smith died at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Palmer one mile northwest of Alex, Sunday morning at 2:15 o'clock, aged 24 years.

He was taken seriously ill Friday and everything possible was done to relieve his suffering but all to no avail.

He came here last fall from Konowa, Okla. and had been making his home here since that time.

His parents and three brothers together with an uncle from Konowa were with him at the time of his death.

The funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Sunday afternoon, conducted by Elder Vaughan, and burial was made in the Morris cemetery east of Alex.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
