We've been told by a Simmons descendant that William H. Simmons
planted the roseyou see in this photo from a cutting off a rose
on an arch in his front yard after their daughter Jewell died in 1929.
It has now taken over both Jewell and Wanna's stones
.

The name on the Marker was Jewelle Simmons. The birth and death
dates were the same as Gladys Simmons
.

Friday, February 28, 1930

Death of Little Girl

Funeral services for the little 4-year old daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. W. H. Simons, were held at the Methodist church, Monday afternoon, at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. P. Robertson.

The child died early Monday morning having been ill for a long time.

Burial was made in the Morris Cemetery.
