© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma April 16, 2010 November 16, 1922 ~ April 15, 2010 Funeral service for Max Roy Ramsey, 87, of Alex, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Alex. Max Roy Ramsey was born November 16, 1922 in Alex, Oklahoma the son of Roy Earl and Jessie Mabel [Starry] Ramsey. He died April 15, 2010 in Chickasha. He and Mary Elizabeth Anderson were married June 14, 1941 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Max was a retired preacher, teacher and farmer. He taught at public schools in Maysville, Norman and Alex. Max served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during World War II. He was a member of the Baptist Missionary Association. Max was preceded in death by: Parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Wife: Mary Elizabeth Ramsey of the home, 3 sons: Gary Ramsey and wife, Cecilia, of Port Arkansas, TX, Dennis Ramsey and wife, Carolyn, of Ionia, OK, Kirk Ramsey and wife, Robin, of Alex, OK, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Carmirita Lyons of Alex, OK. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, May 25, 2014 August 13, 1923 ~ May 24, 2014 Funeral services for Mary Ramsey, of Alex, Oklahoma, will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mary Ramsey was born August 18, 1923 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Claude R. and Ida Helen (Clement) Anderson. She passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Mrs. Ramsey lived in Alex most her adult life. She married Max Ramsey on June 16, 1941 and to this union 3 children were born: Gary, Dennis and Kirk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alex. She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Ramsey, three sisters and her parents. Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her children: Gary Ramsey and his wife, Cecilya; Dennis Ramsey and his wife, Carolyn, Kirk Ramsey and his wife, Robin; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; two sisters: Mona Vaughn and Ann Shields; one brother, Nolen Anderson. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
