Dow B. Patterson
January 20, 1892 ~ July 19, 1965


Funeral services for a prominent Alex rancher, D. B. Patterson, 73, were held at 4 p.m. today [Thurs] in the Alex High School auditorium with Rev. Ed Stone officiating.

Mr. Patterson died Monday while fishing of an apparent heart attack.

He was born Jan 20, 1892 in Pontotoc, Miss. and moved to Lindsay in 1910 and to Alex in 1916.

He married Nellie Morris October 15, 1916.

He was a rancher in the Alex community most of his life and retired in 1957.

He was a member of the Methodist Church of Alex, the Alex Masonic Lodge No. 457, and the Order of Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a supervisor with the Grady County Soil Conservation Service.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jack Patterson of Alex and Major Joe Morris Patterson of Weisbaden, Germany; one sister, Mrs. Loyce Jones of Pontotoc; and three grandchildren. Interment was in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier's Funeral Home.
