Jacob Muery
June 15, 1840 ~ June 27, 1908

Old Citizen Passed Away

Jacob Murey, one of our pioneer citizens, died after a short illness, of cholera morbeus, superinduced by old age. Mr. Murey had not been very well for the last year.

Deceased was born in Switzerland on June 15, 1840, emigrating to this country when he was about thirty years old.

Henry Murey and Mrs. Julia Hammel of Brytherville, Ark., children by his first wife, and Mrs. A. A. Muery, whom he married at Hunter Ark., in 1892 survive him.

Mr. and Mrs. Muery came to Alex three years ago from Arkansaw and have made many friends who sympathize deeply with the surviving wife and children in their loss.

The funeral which was held from the house Sunday morning was very well attended, Rev. E. A. Vincent conducted the services.

Interment was made in the Mooris Cemetery.
