Maxine [Black] Mowdy
February 3, 1931 ~ September 29, 2013


Graveside services for Maxine Mowdy, of Alex, Okla, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Alex Cemetery, Alex, Okla.

Maxine Black Mowdy was born February 3, 1931 in Marlow, Okla., to Clifton and Katie Bell Black. She passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 in Chickasha, Okla., at the age of 82.

Maxine Black Mowdy was born Feb 3, 1931 in Marlow, Okla., to Clifton and Katie Bell Black. She passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Chickasha, Okla., at the age of 82.

Maxine grew up in Alex and graduated from Alex High School. She loved crafts, music and dancing. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Maxine married Don Mowdy on Sept. 5, 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She belonged to the Winters Creek Home Extension Club.

She is preceded in death by her parent; her husband, Don Mowdy; daughter, Donna Davis; granddaughter, Stormi Beverly and grandson, Rowdy Mowdy.

Maxine is survived by her son, Phil Lewis, of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters: Ginger Hebb, of Chickasha, Okla.; Dee Ann Long and her husband, Darrin, of Alex, Okla.; two stepsons: Don Mowdy, Jr., of Alex, Okla.; Michael Lynn Mowdy, and his wife, Diane, of Ada, Okla.; two stepdaughters: Charlet Penney and her husband, Eddie, of Alex, Okla.; Emma Jean Guffee and her husband, Tommy, of Beaver, Okla.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, Okla.
