John Luther "Johnny" McLelland
1926 ~ 1992

John McLelland is buried in Sec. 3 South, where his grave is identified by a rock marked with the hand carved initial of "M".

Someone has place a military stone for him in Section 7 North. The stone was placed in Section 7 North because no one with the cemetery knew where he was actually buried. So this military stone is in essence a "memorial stone" until it is moved to Section 3 South where his actual grave is located.

Geneva (Palmer) Brooksher confirmed John's burial place in May 2013 in Section 3 South and that he is buried beside his mother who also has a grave marked with only a rock and hand carved initial.

Johnny's surname spelling comes from the obit of his mother which showed it as "McLelland".

He's listed on the Alex Cemetery Veterans' Monument as "McLellan".
