April 2018 Kenneth George "Ken" McKee February 7, 1950 ~ April 11, 2018 Kenneth “Ken” George McKee was born on February 7, 1950 in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland to William Henry McKee and Lena Fae [Fleming] McKee. He entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 68. Ken was raised in Alex, Oklahoma but has lived the majority of his life in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He was one of six children in the McKee household. He graduated from the Alex High School in 1968. After graduating, Ken enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. He was a Forward Artillery Observer for the 4th Infantry during the Vietnam War. In May of 1969, Ken married the love of his life Brenda Kay [Simmons] McKee in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Together they had two children Julie and Keven. This coming May the two would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. Ken was a member of Erin Springs Church of God. He enjoyed sports and being outdoors. He liked to spend his free time fishing and coaching his little league team. He spent his working life in oilfield as a driller, before settling in as a Parts Manager at Cudd Pressure Control until his retirement. Ken is survived by his wife: Brenda McKee of Lindsay, his mother: Lena McKee of Alex, his dog: Snoopy, one brother: Henry Lee McKee and wife Debra of Alex, three sisters: Malena Wies and husband Rodney of Port Ludlow, Washington, Nancy Chapman of Glenrose, Texas, and Sarah Young of San Antonio, Texas, two sister-in-law's: Kathy Boykin and husband Don of Lindsay, Shirley Shamblin and husband Jamie of Vian, a brother-in-law: David Simmons and wife Linda of Lindsay, his mother-in-law: Elvina Simmons of Lindsay, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father: William McKee, his daughter: Julie Ann McKee, his son: Keven Kenneth McKee, a sister: Henrietta McKee, and a brother-in-law: Danny Chapman. He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. A Funeral Service to honor the life of Ken is set to begin at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Erin Springs Church of God. He will be laid to rest following the service at the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Scott Wilbourn with Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma. |
