January 2020 September 14, 1959 ~ January 2, 2020 Melinda Mathes, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away January 2, 2020 at the age of 59. She was born September 14, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George & Lucille (Drummond) Holbrook. Melinda married the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Mathes on September 15, 1978 in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed singing and listening to country music. Her favorite TV shows were “Golden Girls” and “Roseanne.” Melinda loved shopping and she loved sitting in her rocking chair. Her first love was spending time with her family. Melinda is survived by her husband of 41 years, Tom Mathes, of the home; 1 daughter, Amber Rogers, of Enid, Oklahoma; 1 son, James Mathes & wife, Danielle, of Moore, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Siera Rogers, of Moore, Jamie Rogers of Newcastle, and Parker Mathes, of Mt. Holly, Pennsylvania; 2 great-grandchildren, Reagan Musgrove, of Moore and Wyatt Marcus, of Moore; 1 sister, Judy Brock, of Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her parents, George & Lucille Holbrook; 1 sister, Janelle Wenthrow. Funeral services: Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment is at Alex Cemetery, in Alex, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma. |
