May 8, 1911 ~ May 12, 1929


Death of Young Man

Edgar Martin, the 18 year old son of Mrs. J. A. Martin, died Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock following an illness of long standing.

Never very strong Edgar developed tuberculosis, and for a long time was under treatment at the sanitarium at Clinton, Oklahoma, but wanting to be with his mother and family he returned home to await the final summons.

He was a good boy and made many friend. He was possessed of a kind disposition and was cheerful even to the last.

The funeral services were held at the Missionary Baptist church conducted by Rev. C. A. Smith. His casket was adorned with wreaths and sprays of flowers presented by his school mates and other friends and relatives.

His tired form was laid to rest in the Morris cemetery beside his father who preceded him to the grave a few years ago.

He is survived by his mother, 3 sisters, a half brother, step father and other relatives.
