Private family graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2020 in Alex Cemetery, Alex, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.

Wilford Ray Lyons, of Alex, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2002 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 87. He was born on December 29, 1932 in Leon, Oklahoma to Charles and Alma [Washington] Lyons.

He married Cary Carmirta Ramsey on May 23, 1950 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He lived in the Alex area for over 70 years and had worked for Superior Oil and Nicor Drilling for 13 years. He retired in 1989.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alma Lyons; his wife, Cary Carmirta Lyons in 2012; and a daughter Dana Doby.

Wilford is survived by his son, Toby Lyons and daughter, Tammy Merchant; Grandchildren: Lanny Merchant, Brook Nath, Candace Green and Courtney Otey; Great grandchildren: Carson Green, Aydn Green, Ellie Flynn, Cope Otey and Cord Otey; And a brother, Don Lyons.

Cary Carmirita [Ramsey] Lyons
January 21, 1933 ~ January 22, 2012


Funeral service for Cary Carmirita Lyons, 79, of Alex will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Alex with Bobby Ayres officiating.

Cary Carmirita Lyons was born January 21, 1933 in Alex, the daughter of Roy Earl Ramsey and Jessye Starry Ramsey. She died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at her home in Alex.

Cary graduated from Alex Public Schools in 1950. She married Wilford Lyons on May 23, 1950 in Pauls Valley.

Cary was a homemaker most of her life. She was employed part time at the Alex School for a brief time.

Cary loved playing piano and walking. She always enjoyed painting portraits and loved those grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include: husband: Wilford Lyons of the home; a son: Toby Lyons of Chickasha; two daughters: Tammy Merchant and husband Wayne of Chickasha and Dana Doby of Alex; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery in Alex under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
