© Sevier Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma July 1987 April 17, 1927 ~ July 9, 1987 Funeral services for Mildred Virginia Looney, 60 of Chickasha, were held July 12, 1987, in the Alex High School Auditorium. Dr. Glen Miller, pastor of the Epworth United Methodist Church officiated. Mrs. Looney was born April 17, 1927, in Alex and died July 9, 1987 in Chickasha. She spent her early life in Grady County. Mildred Godwin and Allen Victor Looney were married June 1, 1946. They moved to Chickasha. Mrs. Looney graduated from Alex High School. She attended OCW where she obtained her Teacher's certificate. Mrs. Looney taught school in Pleasantview. Mrs. Looney worked as a reserved library clerk. She was preceded in death by: her father, John Wesley Godwin; two brothers, Leonard Andrew Godwin and Neal Godwin and an infant daughter, Robin Leigh Looney. She is survived by: her husband, Allen Victor "A. V."" Looney of Chickasha; three daughters, Reta Kaye Sherwin of Larwill, Indiana, Mary Margaret Braziel of Alex and Rebecca Anne Ottaviani of Edmond; one son, David Wayne Looney of Chickasha; her mother, Mary Virginia Simmons of Alex; her stepfather, Roy Simmons of Alex; three sisters, Margaret Knox of Willow, OK, Helen Beatrice Huffer of Crescent, OK, and Johnny Bernice Wolfe of Perkins, OK; a sister-in-law, Ima Jean Maxwell of Wilson, OK; and seven grandchildren. Interment was held in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
